It would take more than just one page to tell you all about the Dilmun Club, the food, the service, the events and the history but that’s all I have to do it in!
Founded in 1974 the Dilmun Club is a long established Expatriate Club with a
current membership of more than 1500 people of various nationalities. The Dilmun
enjoys a particularly good reputation for its varied and reasonably priced
cuisine. Wherever your tastes lie the chances are we cater to it. From the
Mediterranean feel Bistro, open 7 days a week till 10.30, our flagship
restaurant – Candles (regularly open on Sunday for the great value Dinner for 2,
Tuesdays for Four Corners of the World and on a Friday for our Famous Brunch) to
the full Dilly menu being available in the Bulls Head, the Orbit Bar and Amigos
by the pool. Whenever you have a special occasion but want to celebrate it at
home we will bring the Dilmun to you – it is no idle boast when I say that our
Outside Catering cannot be beaten for quality, value and service.
On the sports side, the Dilmun offers two tennis courts, two squash courts, a heated/chilled swimming pool, a multi purpose court, and stables. We have active tennis and netball sections both of which offer junior coaching. Maybe get that Arabian experience with riding lessons for both the big and small from the stables. Future Rooney’s are in training with our Junior Football coach Mark and for the toddlers there is the baby pool and playground. Armchair sports fans are offered a full satellite sports schedule from football, rugby, athletics, Australian Rules to golf and cricket, the majority of which are shown in the Orbit Sports Bar.
On a regular basis we feature both local and international music and comedy acts. These have included Deacon Blue, The Barron Knights, Paul Daniels, Whose Line is it Anyway (UK TV road show), Beatles, Tina Turner and Madness tributes to name but a few. Other activities include, Mahjong, Canasta, quiz nights, Sewing mornings, kids Disco’s and the monthly Members Draw. Of Course if sitting back with your feet up and a good book is your cup of tea, then our Library with over 6,000 titles is sure to satisfy.
